In his ideal world, Metta World Peace would’ve hoisted his own championship with the Knicks. He’s still “salty” the franchise passed on drafting him in 1999, instead making the ill-fated choice of Frederic Weis.
But that hasn’t sapped World Peace’s enthusiasm for his hometown team, or his bold prediction about the NBA Finals.
“They’re going to win it,” World Peace said in an interview with The Post. “I think this is going to be the time. I knew I wanted to see it in my lifetime and it feels like Jalen Brunson is the best player in the playoffs right now even though (San Antonio’s Victor) Wembanyama is really good.
“But right now, Jalen Brunson is the best player in the playoffs.”
