Geno Smith spoke with cops for over an hour after his ex accused him of roughing her up last month, and the Jets quarterback was adamant the entire time that he was the victim in the case, newly released police video shows.

The Davie Police Department responded to Smith’s South Florida mansion at around 4:40 p.m. on June 21 to investigate claims of a battery, and Smith immediately claimed he was innocent.

Geno Smith was questioned by cops about an alleged battery on June 21.

In body camera footage obtained by The California Post on Thursday, Smith told cops that his ex — who he now employs — got physical with him after she had dropped his child off at his place earlier in the day.

“She hit me,” Smith said to police. “I got a knot in the back of my head. I got a scratch on my face. I’m trying to say I don’t want her to go to jail. But if she’s trying to put me in jail, what can I do?”

Smith posed for pictures for cops, pointing out his wounds as an officer took snaps on his iPhone.

“It’s all just ’cause I’m [physically] moving her,” the two-time Pro Bowler said of how he sustained his injuries. “She’s swinging at me, I’m trying to duck it. That’s when she hit me in the back of the head.”

The woman, meanwhile, told responding officers a very different story.

After calling police to the residence via 911, she stated Smith beat her up after she had entered his residence to bring back his son. She pointed out that she had a cut on her hand and bruising on her arm.

Ultimately, cops couldn’t make a determination of who was the primary aggressor, and urged both parties to file a case with the State Attorney’s Office if they wanted to press charges before they left.

The investigation was closed at the scene but was later re-opened. However, on July 14, the Davie PD revealed it had closed the probe once more without making any arrests.

Smith, who was traded to the Jets from the Raiders earlier this year, has still not yet commented publicly on the incident.
