Noti Group

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2, 2026

This policy explains how Noti Group ("Noti Group", "we", "us") handles personal data when you visit https://noti.group (the "site"), subscribe to our newsletter or write to us. We collect as little as we can: you can read the whole site without an account, and we do not sell personal data.

Who is responsible

Noti Group is responsible (the "controller") for the personal data described here. For any question about privacy, or to exercise your rights, write to [email protected].

What we collect and why

When you read the site

Like every website, our servers and our network provider receive technical information with each request: the address of the page, the time, your IP address, your browser type and the page that sent you. We use it to deliver the site, to keep it secure (for example to stop attacks and abuse) and to fix problems. Our web server logs are deleted automatically as they are overwritten by newer entries, normally within a few weeks; we do not use them to identify readers.

We also measure reading in an anonymous way: for each page and hour we count views, how far readers scroll, how long they stay and which website sent them. This measurement uses no cookie and no identifier and stores nothing on your device; we keep only these totals, for up to 24 months, to understand which stories readers value.

The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in running a secure, working news site and in understanding, in aggregate, how it is used.

Cookies and similar technologies

The site sets no advertising or tracking cookie without your consent. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland we ask for your choice first; you can change it at any time with the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of every page. Your browser keeps your choice (and, if you use it, your light or dark theme preference) in its local storage; this information never leaves your device. If you accept analytics or advertising cookies, the providers named below may set their own cookies to measure visits or show advertising; if you refuse, they are not loaded. The full list of cookies, what each is for and how long it lasts is in our Cookie Policy. Cloudflare Web Analytics also measures page performance without cookies or identifiers.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter we keep your email address, the language you chose, when you subscribed, confirmed or left, and a record of the issues sent to you. We send nothing until you confirm your address with the link we email you (double opt-in). Unconfirmed addresses are deleted after 7 days. Every issue has a one-click unsubscribe link; when you unsubscribe we stop at once and delete your address and its records 30 days later. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

When you write to us

When you email us we keep your message, your address and our reply so that we can answer you and keep a record of the conversation, for as long as needed for that purpose and in any case no longer than three years, unless a longer period is required to establish or defend legal claims. Information sent to us as a news source is handled with particular care and is not disclosed without your agreement, except where the law requires it.

Who we share data with

We do not sell or rent personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site, under contracts that require them to protect it and to use it only on our instructions:

  • Cloudflare, which delivers the site through its global network and protects it against attacks.
  • Our hosting provider, on whose servers the site, our databases and our email run.
  • Only if you accept the corresponding cookies: analytics and advertising providers such as Google, which process data under their own privacy policies.

We may also disclose data when the law requires it, or when necessary to protect the rights, safety or property of our readers, our staff or the public.

International transfers

Noti Group is an international publication and some of our providers operate worldwide. When personal data is transferred outside the country where it was collected, we rely on the safeguards required by applicable law, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep data

We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described above, as stated in each section. Encrypted backups of our systems are kept for a limited time (at most six months) to recover from failures, after which they are deleted.

Security

We protect the site and the data we hold with encryption in transit (HTTPS), restricted access, encrypted backups and regular updates. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to prevent unauthorized access, loss or misuse, and we will inform affected people and the authorities of a breach when the law requires it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, and in particular under the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation and the California Consumer Privacy Act, you may have the right to:

  • know what personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data deleted;
  • object to or restrict certain processing;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing that took place before;
  • complain to your data protection authority.

To exercise these rights, write to [email protected]. We will answer within one month, and we may ask for information to confirm your identity before acting. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising their rights. We do not sell or share personal data for cross-context behavioural advertising as those terms are defined in California law.

Children

The site is a general news publication and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children; if you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.

Journalism

Personal data that appears in our journalism is processed for journalistic purposes, which data protection laws recognize and protect in order to safeguard freedom of expression and information. Requests about the content of a story are handled under our corrections and right of reply practice, described on our Contact page.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we use personal data, we will make it clear on the site and, for newsletter subscribers, by email.

Your choice about cookies

If you visit us from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics (Google Analytics) and advertising only run if you accept them; until then they are not loaded. To know where you visit from we use the country Cloudflare reports, without storing it. Your choice is kept in your browser (local storage, key cl-consent) and you can change it at any time with the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.
