Aaron Rodgers will be back for one more season before finally hanging up his helmet for good, and one of the people who helped influence his decision was his mystery wife.
Rodgers, 42, agreed to a one-year deal with the Steelers on Saturday and said Wednesday that this season would be his last, finally ending speculation on his football future.
When he was asked on Wednesday about who helped influence his decision, Rodgers listed a slew of people, including his wife, Brittani.
“A lot of conversations with [head coach] Mike [McCarthy] and [owner] Omar [Khan] for a while, and then had a lot of conversations with my wife about it. After the draft, came to the conclusion that I wanted to play, I wanted to come back,” he told reporters.
Rodgers’ mentioning of his wife brought the curiosity surrounding her back to the forefront.
Their relationship has been a tightly guarded secret, with the future Hall of Famer mentioning next to no information about her publicly, other than revealing her name was Brittani, spelled with an i.
Rodgers first publicly mentioned her existence in December 2024 and sprung it on the public in June last year that he had quietly gotten married “a couple months” prior.
The quarterback has insisted that his “private life is staying private” and that his wife is someone who “wants to be private.”
During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” in March, Rodgers divulged he first met his now-wife back in 2017.

“I knew that there was something crazy special about this, and I wanted to be with her,” he said. “And she would make funny comments like, ‘I would never live in Green Bay,’ and ‘I don’t want to be a player’s wife.’ She’s just not a public person.”
Rodgers is heading into 2026 having thrown for 3,322 yards and 24 touchdowns in his first campaign with the Steelers, which included a playoff berth.
