When the Athletics announced that they were leaving Oakland and would relocate to Las Vegas, some fans thought that seemed like a dream. As of Wednesday afternoon, that dream is starting to turn into a reality.

A new video has surfaced on X by the account @LasVegasLocally showcasing the latest update of the stadium and showing what the future holds for baseball in Las Vegas.

The video shows the main concourse that connects the stadium is complete, while nearby seating sections are starting to have the foundation drilled into the ground.

Over the past decade, A’s owner John Fisher was trying to figure out what the future might look like for his franchise.

In Oakland, the A’s played at the Oakland Coliseum, their home since 1968. The stadium was starting to show its age and was showing signs that it was no longer in condition to host professional sports.

The A’s wanted a new ballpark, and the city wanted them to stay. The issue was who was going to foot the bill.

The sides bartered with each other for years, until finally, the A’s announced on Nov. 16, 2023, that they would relocate to Las Vegas.

When news of the relocation was announced, Fisher was promised by Nevada officials that he would receive $380 million in funding.

Obstacles emerged during the process, including a Nevada teachers’ union that sought the money to be invested back into schools.

The other issue was the cost to build the stadium, including who was responsible for the remaining funding for construction and finalized renderings.

On Oct. 31, 2024, Fisher pledged $1.1 billion toward building the A’s their new stadium.

On July 31, 2025, Fisher announced the cost to build the stadium had risen above $2 billion.

Despite the question marks and the costs to build a new baseball stadium in Las Vegas, Fisher has shown his commitment to building the new ballpark, and it’s starting to show.
