A few weeks ago, Hawks fans flooded social media, expressing their displeasure with Atlanta’s second first-round draft choice, Zuby Ejiofor.
All it took was two summer league games for them to change their tune, raving about the former St. John’s star after his monster effort in a win Monday night.
This, of course, is nothing new. Narratives can flip fast this time of year. Summer league games should be taken with several grains of salt.
What should not be dismissed when it comes to Ejiofor is how far he has come in only a few years. From a player who rarely cracked Bill Self’s rotation as a freshman at Kansas to the top center, the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar award winner, in all of college basketball this past season.
