The reputation does not match reality.

There was plenty of disappointment and anger emanating from Giants fans Tuesday after the club hired former Bears head coach Matt Nagy as their new offensive coordinator. Since he was the NFL’s Coach of the Year in 2018, it seems the discourse around him has been overly negative.

This is not to say he is a slam-dunk hire. It is clear that he wasn’t at the top of the Giants’ list.

But he has a strong résumé and has been more successful than most have made him out to be.
