SAN FRANCISCO — Tyrod Taylor is scheduled to be a free agent in March, and the Jets quarterback said the team expressed interest in him returning in 2026 at the end of last season.

“I’ve been around long enough to know that conversations in January are different than conversations in March,” Taylor said Thursday.

Taylor has played 15 seasons in the NFL and the Jets were his seventh team, so he has seen a lot in the league.

He said he’s hoping to return, but free agency can be unpredictable.

“I believe in everything [coach Aaron Glenn] is doing,” Taylor said. “I believe he’s the right person to shift the culture in the right way. Right now, it’s a learning curve. I think the guys responded well throughout the locker room, and I think we have the right guys in the locker room to get it changed.”

Taylor appeared on Radio Row at the Super Bowl to promote Dairy Queen and their Super Bowl Halftime Feast.

He is doing the promotions with Bears running back D’Andre Swift — a clever “Taylor Swift” promotion.

Taylor made four starts last season, throwing five touchdowns and five interceptions and leading the Jets to one of their three wins.

He injured his groin in the fourth start against the Dolphins and did not play for the rest of the season.

“From a personal side, I think I was able to go out and take advantage of the opportunity that was presented to me,” Taylor said. “I think I played at a high level when the opportunity presented itself. I become a free agent in March. I don’t know what the next chapter is, whether it’s with the Jets or somebody else. I’m fully confident in my ability to go out and continue to contribute at a high level, whether it’s through playing or being a mentor and being ready to play.”

Taylor said he was surprised that the team parted ways with offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand, but said he thinks hiring Frank Reich is a good move.

“I have a lot of respect for Tanner,” Taylor said. “He’s recovered fast. He has a promising career in this league. Sometimes it’s just not the right fit. I think going out and getting coach Frank Reich was a good move. I know he’s had a ton of success throughout this league. If I do go back to the Jets, I’m looking forward to seeing what that looks like and what are the next steps.”
