In a lot of ways, this was the week it probably hit you hardest if your football proclivities lie with the Jets. This was a sobering Sunday. Yes, it was another loss, this one 13-6 to the Panthers. That makes seven up and seven down this year, and it’s not mathematically possible to be worse than that.
Oh-and-seven can hit you in the head like an anvil.
But so did 0-6. So did 0-5. Bad is bad. Lousy is lousy. Hapless is hapless.
This was different. There was a realization to what went on at MetLife Stadium on a sunny afternoon in front of 71,047 fervent followers who spent the better part of three hours watching these teams set artful football back about half a century or so. The Panthers did their share.
