The Dolphins have handed out another extension to a key piece.
The team has agreed to a three-year, $51.3 million extension with linebacker Jordyn Brooks, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday.
Brooks, 28, now becomes the sixth-highest-paid inside linebacker in the league in total contract value and AAV.
The extension for the 2025 All-Pro comes after the team extended running back De’Von Achane and center Aaron Brewer earlier this offseason.
Achane signed an extension for four years in May, while Brewer inked his three-year deal in June.
New general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan said at the end of March that those players were the “three pillars” for the Dolphins, and now, they’ll be under contract in Miami for the foreseeable future.
Brooks attended spring practices while negotiating his contract.
“For me, I know I need to get better as a player so that’s why I show up. And then obviously, I never want to give the wrong message to the team or to my teammates,” Brooks said in May. “I play with these guys, go to battle with them, and I want them to know that I’m here no matter what, playing the game for the right reasons, and so I show up to work because that’s what’s required of me.”
Brooks went to Miami on a three-year deal signed in 2024 after spending the first four years of his career in Seattle.
In the past two seasons, Brooks has put up more tackles (326) than any other NFL player, and he led the league in combined tackles (183) and solo tackles (99) last year, earning him All-Pro first-team honors for the first time in his career.
Brooks was also a team captain last year and earned the franchise’s Don Shula Leadership Award.
Miami will look to improve upon its 7-10 record last year as it gets things underway with new head coach Jeff Hafley.
