This is the terrifying moment parachuting soldiers spiral out of control after becoming tangled mid descent but manage to survive.

Two Naval officers had been participating in an operational demonstration on Sunday before miraculously landing at the Rama Krishna Breach in Andhra Pradesh’s Visakhapatnam, India.

The soldiers were taking part in the Eastern Naval Command’s Operational Demonstration rehearsal when their parachutes became entwined mid-air.

Nail biting footage of the incident shows the pair falling from the sky at speed with their parachutes tangled together.

One officer can be descending with a green parachute, and the other’s depicts India’s national flag.

The clip sees both soldiers spinning out of control as they plummet down towards the sea, before eventually making contact with the open water in front of several horrified onlookers.

Thankfully, a navy boat was present close to the area where the two officers landed and rescued them to safety.

A number of locals were present to watch the rehearsal of the event which is set to take place tomorrow, where Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will be the star guest.

The Eastern Naval Command’s Operational Demonstration displays the Indian Navy’s capabilities thorough an incredible and neatly choreographed selection of activities.

These include demonstrations by warships, submarines, aircraft, the Naval Band, and the Marine Commandos (MARCOS).

According to local reports of the event, guests are also treated to high-speed maneuvers by warships of various types, flying operations by fighters, fixed-wing maritime aircraft and helicopters, demonstrations of amphibious assault, live slithering operations and Combat Free Fall by MARCOS.

The terrifying parachute fail comes after a skydiving videographer died during a parachute jump last year.

Durham Police said Sam Cornwell, 46, from Hampshire, UK, was skydiving on Saturday April 28 near Shotton airfield in County Durham, when his parachute failed to open.

He suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at South West Industrial Estate in Shotton.
