It’s one thing to prove you were worth a second-round pick, it’s a whole new ball game trying to prove you’re worth a long-term contract as a 25-year-old running back.

Breece Hall signed a three-year, $43.5 million deal with the Jets this offseason and says it motivated him to prove he’s worth the investment.

“It makes me more hungry to keep proving I am who I say I am,” Hall said at Jets training camp Tuesday. “It’s making me want to do more than I’ve done in the past.”

After the Jets took Hall with the No. 36 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, he’s proven to be one of the most talented backs in the NFL.

Last season, he surpassed the 1,000-yard threshold for the first time, putting up 1,065 yards and four rushing touchdowns in 16 games.

He added 350 receiving yards and a touchdown on 36 receptions.

Now entering his fifth season in New York, Hall said he’s finally in a position to maximize his potential, citing the Jets’ “complete offense.”

He said it’s not just the star power, but the pieces around the entire offense that will make them special in 2026.

“We got two No. 1 tight ends, we have [Garrett Wilson] and Adonai Mitchell on the outside, we have a really good offensive line and a quarterback,” Hall said.

He said that while the team is flying under the radar, he expects a lot of explosive plays from the offense this season.

Hall was specifically fond of rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq, who was taken No. 16 overall in the 2026 draft out of Oregon, and tight end Mason Taylor.

He added that he’s enjoyed playing under new offensive coordinator Frank Reich because he “lets players play off reactions, make the plays their own, make the offense their own.”

The running back described the former Panthers head coach as a “players coach” and someone that players want to play harder for.

The “very chill and cool” demeanor of Reich has allowed practices to loosen up and natural competition to develop.

Hall said putting himself against the rest of the offense has made him a better player.

He mentioned position battles with Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis, where he is consistently trying to prove he’s the best back in the room.

“Essentially every day I’m competing with Garrett for who’s going to be the best player in the offense,” Hall said. “… It definitely pushed you to be a little bit better.”
