Brie Bird has died at just 9 years old.

The social media star died on Thursday after a five-year battle with neuroblastoma cancer.

“You are the miracle! Your purpose on earth was fulfilled, and it was the most sacred privilege to escort you home,” her family posted to Instagram on Friday. “You brought people to Christ, you showed the world that God is good, and your light shined to all corners of the earth. We love you for eternity!

“We will never stop sharing your story. Please come visit us often. Your bedroom door is always open, and we’ll leave the playroom light on,” their message continued. “We will look for you in all the details, especially the dragonfly’s.”

The caption concluded: “You did it Brielle, you did everything with grace! I can only imagine the incredible reunion, and I’m so jealous; but I know you ran straight to Jesus. 😭. Thank you for being an inspiration to so many.”

Many followers flocked to the comments section to share their condolences.

“Oh my heart. This post took my breath away. Kendra, I have no words. My mama heart aches so deeply for yours,” one user penned. “Brielle, you precious sweet angel, you are so loved. You have changed so many lives. Merry Christmas in your healed body celebrating with Jesus, sweet baby girl 😭🙌🏽”

A second follower added: “Oh Kendra and family. We rejoice for Brielle and we weep for you all. We are hugging you SO TIGHTLY. He has her. He has her wrapped so tightly now.”

Bird was first diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma in 2020. At the time, the media personality’s mom, Kendra, announced to followers that doctors located an 8-centimeter tumor in Bird’s abdomen.

Two years later, the young star was cancer free but by 2024, the disease had returned.

“I hope you never have to tell your child that the cancer is back,” Kendra wrote on Instagram in January 2024. “When Brielle was 4, she knew she was hurting, but the hospital was exciting! They had toys to distract her during every stay, bubble wands were still fun, and a coloring book and crayons went a long way.”

“Now at the age of 7 (almost 8), when is a good time to say “we are going to fight this again!”? NEVER! Never is a good time! 😭,” she heartbreakingly shared. “She had been quiet for a couple hours, when I leaned down to ask if she was okay. She then whispered these words, “But mom, cancer can kill people.” 💔.”

Bird ended up entering hospice in July 2025. Kendra explained to followers that it was her daughter’s choice.

“After hearing this cry, I ran upstairs! She was hurting, but not physically like I thought, her heart was broken. She wanted to say, ‘I can’t do this anymore,’” Kendra wrote beneath a heartbreaking video of Bird in bed, “and wanted the validation that her plea was the right choice. And though I am terrified, we respect and honor her wishes; she knows her body.”

In August, while in hospice, Bird received a sweet package from Ariana Grande.

She unboxed the gift that included Squishmallows, nail polish, and “Wicked” inspired items.

“Thank you so, so, so, so much, Ariana Grande. I love everything in the package that you got, especially the Squishmallows and everything else,” Bird said in the clip.

“I’ve seen your videos and I think you are the most amazing, most inspiring little light beam in this universe. You’re just so incredible, so thank you for being you,” Grande said in a video that played at the end. “I’m sending you so much love and many, many, many virtual hugs. I hope this makes you smile, and I’ll speak to you soon. Love you.”

Bird and her family were elated by Grande’s generosity.

“Wow! You absolutely must watch till the end! @arianagrande, you made this little girls dream come true! Thank you for your beautiful, kind, generous heart! We are so grateful! She still can’t believe that you know who she is,” Kendra detailed in the caption. “So much love to your family! Thank you @diane.herrera for making this happen. We feel so loved!”

A few days before Bird’s passing, Kendra shared a sweet picture of her daughter and her son, Rixton, to Instagram.

“These two have been through so much together, and though their relationship has changed immensely, they still have so many beautiful moments,” she said before adding, “Rixton has told me on multiple occasions that he is going to grow up and be a scientist, so that he can fight cancer.”
