It’s been 17 days since Myles Garrett was traded to the Los Angeles Rams, and he’s already feeling the confidence that Sean McVay has instilled across the locker room.

Appearing alongside Andrew Whitworth as the third act of interviews during New Heights’ live show in Los Angeles this past Monday, Garrett was asked by Whitworth about his initial takeaway of being a Ram.

“Well, first I’ll say, they were telling me LA isn’t a football town, but the reception we’ve been getting is amazing, so thank you,” Garret said when responding to Whitworth.

“Secondly, the environment in that building is second to none. The way those guys rally around each other, the chemistry that they have, the work ethic, you see it every day, and they know exactly who they are and know what their expectations are for this year. They’re locked and loaded.”

When the Rams traded for Garrett on June 1, the organization made it loud and clear what their intentions are.

Going all in and winning the Super Bowl.

Garrett is among the league’s best defensive players and is the best at his position after having a record-breaking season last year, where he broke and reset the NFL sack record by logging 23 sacks.

When the Super Bowl last came to Los Angeles in 2021, the game was played in the Rams’ own backyard, at SoFi Stadium.

This year, the Super Bowl is returning to Los Angeles, and the Rams appear to have the same mentality as before by going all in again.

Before the offseason began, the Rams were already viewed as a favorite to win the Super Bowl despite lingering questions about their defense.

The team answered those questions by fixing the main concern that lied withint their secondary.

On March 4, the team struck a deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, agreeing to send the 29th pick of the 2026 NFL Draft over to them in exchange for two-time All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie. Five days later, the team made another move to bolster their secondary by signing McDuffie’s former counterpart, Jaylen Watson to a three-year $51 million deal, keeping the cornerback tandem together for their fifth straight season.

With all the moves the Rams have made, Garret said: “They looked at me as just another bullet in the gun, and we’re ready to go.”
