Happy birthday, Prince Archie!
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s son received a celebratory tribute from his mom on his 6th birthday on Tuesday.
The “Suits” alum, 43, posted a rare photo of Archie with his back to the camera looking at a sunset.
“Our son. Our sun,” Markle began her caption. “Happy 6th birthday to Archie!”
“Thank you for all of the love, prayers, and warm wishes for our sweet boy. He’s six! Where did the time go?” the mom of two added. “And for all of you who came to celebrate with us at his party last weekend, thank you for making his birthday so incredibly special ❤️).”
Archie was born in May 2019, less than a year before his parents quit their royal duties and moved from England to America.
Markle and Harry, 40 welcomed their second child, daughter Princess Lilibet, in June 2021. She turns 4 next month.
The family of four currently lives in a $14 million mansion in Montecito, Calif. and are estranged from Harry’s relatives.
Archie’s birthday comes on the heels of Harry losing his final appeal against the UK government over taxpayer-funded security.
The Duke of Sussex told the BBC on Friday that because of the legal outcome, he has no plans to return to his native country with his wife and kids.
“I can’t see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the UK at this point,” he said in the interview.
“The things that they’re going to miss is, well, everything,” Harry added. “I love my country. I always have done. Despite what some people in that country have done.”
The “Spare” author also stated that “it’s really quite sad that I won’t be able to show my children my homeland.”
Since moving to America, Harry has returned to the UK by himself for short visits, including last month for a hearing about his appeal.
Markle, meanwhile, hasn’t been in England since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in Sept. 2022.
The As Ever founder subtly responded to Harry’s legal loss over the weekend by sharing a black-and-white photo of her husband and kids in the garden of their Calif. home.
Also in the BBC interview, Harry said that he’d like to “reconcile” with his father King Charles III, who was diagnosed with cancer last year.
“Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has,” Harry shared. “He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff. It would be nice to reconcile.”
