On Thursday, July 23, the “Queen of Country Pop” will drop into New York City’s Racket for a one-night-only concert celebrating the release of her seventh studio album ‘Little Miss Twain,’ which hits shelves on Friday.

“This album is a homage to my roots, my youth and my mother,” Twain, 61, wrote on Instagram.
Ahead of the record’s release, the tireless Canadian icon has dropped three singles: “Dirty Rosie,” “Faded Blue Jeans” feat. Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age and the title track “Little Miss Twain” with Tanya Tucker.
She debuted two of the tracks — “Little Miss Twain” and “Faded Blue Jeans” — in her home province of Ontario at Toronto’s Horseshoe Tavern (her dream venue to perform at while growing up but never got the chance) on July 17.
According to Set List FM, the vocally-gifted Mezzo-Soprano performed ten songs that evening including the aforementioned tracks as well as her timeless hits “You’re Still the One,” “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!,” “That Don’t Impress Me Much,” “Any Man of Mine” and “Come on Over.”
“Twain…clearly [loved] the casual and intimate show,” Next Mag reported about the tiny gig. “Used to massive stages and plenty of costume changes, the simplicity of the show seems to delight the singer, and the stripped-down presentation [showcased] the power of her songs and vocals. She often [shimmied] with delight on the relatively tiny stage. Fears that illness and throat surgery a few years ago had left her with diminished singing capacity are blown away by her consistently strong and powerful vocals.”

Shania Twain new music
On July 24, Shania Twain is releasing her seventh studio album “Little Miss Twain.”
As noted above, she’s released three singles ahead of the record hitting shelves and the airwaves.
The first, “Dirty Rosie,” is a feel-good, gritty anthem with fun lyrics like “You can drive me crazy, drive me half nuts/You can drive all night to see me, take a chance on your luck/You can drive a Hummer in the summer/You can even drive the ladies in my Mercedes/But you can’t drive my truck.” What makes this song truly special though is the slowed-down section in the middle (around the 1:40 mark). It’s a seductive deconstruction of the tune and absolutely irresistible.
After that, the Ontario native unveiled the titular “Little Miss Twain.” This contemplative ballad brings the mood down but doesn’t deflate the energy; it’s more spiritual and aspirational than a downer. Heck, you might even find yourself pumping yourself along to this ode to being “the next Tanya Tucker” (that also happens to feature the 67-year-old Tucker).
Finally, the Josh Homme collab “Faded Blue Jeans,” is the last pre-album release single. It’s a smoky, rollicking epic that’s destined to serve as the theme song for a backwoods Netflix miniseries. More bluesy than country, we’ll be playing this one on repeat all summer.
