The Rams are locking up a key part of their secondary.

Just days before the start of free agency the club has agreed to terms on a new contract with safety Kam Curl.

A seventh-round pick by the Commanders in 2020, Curl has developed into a big cog of the Rams defense the last two seasons, accumulating 201 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions and 14 pass breakups.

His new deal will pay him $36 million over three years and can top out at $39 million.

The Rams have acted swiftly to solidify their secondary ahead of free agency, with Curl agreeing to terms just two days after they traded for Chiefs Pro Bowl cornerback Trent McDuffie.
