Tyler Kolek is getting his opportunity as the backup point guard and, frankly, it’s not going well.
There have been flashes of strong floor generalship, and it’s important to remember that Kolek, despite being 24 years old, is still only in his second season. But the Knicks have title aspirations. And it’s tough to ignore the big-picture numbers.
Kolek owns the worst net rating, by far, of any Knick with at least 100 minutes. The Knicks have been outscored by 8.8 points per 100 possessions when he is on the court.
No other Knick with as many minutes as Kolek was even in the negative. He is also shooting just 29.6% on 3-pointers.
