Bills wideout Keon Coleman and team minority owner Tracy McGrady had an animated conversation on the field ahead of Buffalo’s road loss to the Texans on Thursday night.

Coleman, who was benched for a second straight game after previously being late to a team meeting, and the NBA Hall of Famer reportedly spoke for several minutes pregame.

Although it’s unclear what exactly was said, McGrady appeared to be explaining something important, as seen in a video.

McGrady is part of a Bill minority ownership group including fellow NBA Hall of Famer Vince Carter and former USA soccer striker Jozy Altidore.

Coleman, the Bills’ No. 33 overall selection in the 2024 NFL draft, did not dress for Buffalo’s 44-32 win over the Buccaneers last week after he was late to a team meeting.

The sophomore receiver was a healthy scratch for Thursday’s clash at NFG Stadium, where the Texans defense overpowered Buffalo in a 23-19 win.

Bills quarterback Josh Allen was sacked eight times.

Thursday’s benching marked the fourth time he’s been disciplined by the team in his two-year career.

He was benched for a series in Week 5 against the Patriots, and missed the first quarter of a game against the Jaguars in his rookie year, according to ESPN.

Coleman’s production has also dipped after he tallied eight catches for 112 yards and a touchdown in Week 1’s wild comeback win over the Ravens.

He has just 32 catches for 330 yards and three touchdowns on the season.

Bills coach Sean McDermott previously said it was his decision to bench Coleman.

“It is disappointing, but I still believe in the young man,” McDermott said. “I try and give the guys a kind of a strike approach, ‘Hey, you get a chance to show your teammates that’s not really who you are.’

“When it happens again, then I step in. I believe he will learn from it. He takes it seriously. He will move forward in a way of growing from this, and that’s the whole goal.”

Coleman took responsibility and said he and his coach were “on the same page” about the incident.

“Doing what I’m supposed to do, doing the right things, being where I’m supposed to be … You can’t make those types of mistakes,” Coleman said. “You’re a professional.”

The Bills (7-4) play the Steelers (6-4) in Pittsburgh next Sunday.
