The Chicago Cubs held off elimination in yesterday’s NLDS Game 3, but they’ll need another win tonight to keep their season — and the series against Milwaukee — alive.

The Brewers won Games 1 and 2 of the series before it shifted to Chicago for last night’s Game 3.

For the second time in two games, Cubs first baseman Michael Busch led off with a home run, making history as the only MLB player to achieve that feat. Following that lead off homer, the Cubs scored three more in the first inning. The Cubs took Game 3, 4-3.

Brewers vs. Cubs, game 4: what to know

  • When: Oct. 9, 6:08 p.m. ET/3:08 p.m. PT
  • Where: Wrigley Field (Chicago, Illinois)
  • Channel: TBS, truTV, HBO Max
  • Streaming: DIRECTV (try it free), Sling TV

If the Cubs win again tonight, the series will move back to Milwaukee for a winner-takes-all Game 5 on Saturday afternoon.

Here’s how to tune in to Game 4 of the NL Divisional Series between the Brewers and the Cubs without cable.

Brewers vs. Cubs Game 4 start time

Brewers vs. Cubs is scheduled to begin at 9:08 p.m. ET tonight, Oct. 9.

How to watch Brewers vs. Cubs Game 4 for free

If you don’t have cable, you’ll need a live TV streaming service to stream the MLB on TBS for free. One option we love is DIRECTV, which comes with a five-day free trial and starts at $59.99/month for genre packs, with plenty of subscription options and genre packs that include TBS.

If you aren’t ready to commit to a full-on subscription, you can try a Sling Orange Day Pass. Priced at $4.99, you’ll get 24 hours of access to all Sling TV Orange has to offer, including TBS.

Brewers vs. Cubs Game 4 starting pitchers

Matthew Boyd will get the start for the Cubs. Boyd started Game 1 of the NLDS and struggled, allowing six runs (two earned) in the 9-3 loss.

Milwaukee will start their Game 1 starter again tonight as well. Freddy Peralta tied the Brewers’ franchise strikeout record for a postseason game by striking out nine in less than six innings.
