The Eagles are still tinkering with a roster trying to defend a Super Bowl championship.

Philadelphia traded for Jaguars running back Tank Bigsby on Monday in exchange for a fifth- and sixth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, according to multiple reports.

Bigsby is expected to slide in as the backup behind Saquon Barkley after Will Shipley filled that role in the Eagles’ 24-20 season-opening win over the Cowboys on Thursday night.

Shipley left the game with a ribs injury and it is unclear if he will have to miss some time.

Bigsby, 23, is in his third year in the league after being selected out of Auburn in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Bigsby split time with Travis Etienne in Jacksonville’s backfield a season ago — rushing for 766 yards and seven touchdowns in 16 games.

However, Etienne dominated production in the Jaguars’ Week 1 win over the Panthers with Bigsby getting just five carries for 12 yards.

The Jaguars — under first-year coach Liam Coen — also picked Bhayshul Tuten in the fourth round of this year’s draft and the Virginia Tech product could now slide up to be Etienne’s backup.

Etienne had an explosive start to the season with 143 yards on the ground, including a career-long 71-yard burst against a brutal Carolina defense.

“The backed up run that he makes, [Brenton] Strange comes across, gets a kick out block and there’s a safety sitting in the hole that Travis just, you know, made a great move and broke loose,” Coen said after the game of Etienne’s big play, per SI.

“You could feel him all day. You definitely felt him being a little bit — having a little bit more burst maybe than other guys on the grass. He looked fresh. He looked fast. He took care of the football. Proud of him. He did a great job, but the whole unit, really all the way through the end of the game, ran the ball effectively.”

Bigsby could be set to make his Eagles debut in their Week 2 matchup against the Chiefs in a Super Bowl rematch.
