A Red Sox fan was caught in a heated moment on Friday night at Fenway Park.

As the Yankees led 4-0 in the bottom of the seventh, second baseman David Hamilton was up to bat with one out. During the at-bat, the Apple TV+ broadcast camera caught a Boston fan sitting on the Green Monster, presumably having his way with Hamilton or one of Boston’s other players.

“This guy literally should not even be in the league,” the fan yelled as he took out his frustration. “How do we have nobody better?”

Wayne Randazzo, one of the Apple TV+ broadcasters, quickly laughed after the hot mic moment and went on to joke, “Not talking about me, is he?”

The 27-year-old Hamilton has fluctuated between Boston and Triple-A Worcester this season, playing in 85 big league games with not much production at the plate.

The Texas native holds a dismal .200 batting average and .568 OPS with four home runs and 16 RBIs this season for the Red Sox.

He went 0-for-3 on Friday night with a walk and a strikeout, which came during the at-bat that the fan was caught mouthing off.

It’s Hamilton’s third season playing in the majors, all of which have come in Boston.

If the fan were angry about someone else, he was ripe for choice, as the Red Sox only had two hits in the ballgame.

The Yankees went on to win 4-1 with two games remaining in the final regular-season series between the division rivals.

New York previously lost eight straight games to the Red Sox (81-67) earlier this year, including a three-game sweep here in June. After Friday’s win, the Yankees (82-65) have a one-game lead over the Sox for the top spot in the AL wild-card standings.
