Andrew Thomas appears to be making progress. It remains to be seen if that will be enough for him to make his 2025 debut on Sunday against the Cowboys.
The Giants’ star left tackle practiced for the second straight day on Friday and was expected to do more than he did on Thursday.
“We’ll see how he feels after practice,” coach Brian Daboll said, when asked about the possibility he plays against the Cowboys.
Daboll said Thomas took a good amount of reps on Thursday and is feeling better, although the Giants’ coach cautioned that doesn’t mean Thomas will be ready in Dallas.
Thomas missed the entire preseason recovering from surgery to repair a Lisfranc fracture suffered against the Bengals last October, just six games into the 2024 season.
It’s been 11 months since he appeared in a game.
The Giants sorely missed Thomas in Week 1 against the Commanders. The offense managed just two field goals and quarterback Russell Wilson was sacked twice and hit eight times.
His replacement, James Hudson III, struggled along with the rest of the offensive line.
