Double or Nothing is becoming AEW’s can’t-miss show.
The fastest version in its NYC pay-per-view debut in front of an announced sold-out crowd of 15,015 at Louis Armstrong Stadium on Sunday was no different. It was a perfect buffet of what AEW has to offer, minus the blood, thanks to New York State rules, that sometimes drags it down.
AEW feels like a clear and focused alternative to WWE again and is gaining more and more steam toward a big summer.
Darby Allin’s frantic AEW World championship run came to an end as his daredevil spirit cost him in his rematch with MJF, who will keep his hair. It wasn’t the finish fans wanted, but it’s the one AEW needed. Allin found a way to beat himself after MJF couldn’t, no matter how hard he tried.
