The Subway Series continues Saturday as the Yankees and Mets meet in the second game of their crosstown clash.
After the Yankees won Friday’s game, 5-2, behind starter Cam Schlittler’s brilliance, the New York rivals will be right back at it with Carlos Rodon taking the mound for the second time in 2026.
The veteran left-hander will be looking to bounce back after a rocky season debut, but he’ll be facing a Mets lineup that has shown signs of life of late.
Rodon opened his 2026 campaign by allowing three earned runs against the Brewers across 4 1/3 innings in an eventual 4-3 walk-off loss, struggling to put hitters away and keep traffic off the bases.
The stuff is still good enough for Rodon to miss bats, but his command will need to be sharper Saturday against a Mets lineup that features patient bats like Juan Soto.
The southpaw, who has been known to give up his fair share of free passes, walked five batters in his brief 2026 debut.
Rodon found the strike zone with just 41 percent of his 78 pitches, which was his lowest zone rate in a game since April 2025.

He was particularly wild with his fastball, which is typically the pitch hurlers control the best, hitting the strike zone just 38.6 percent of the time, which was the second-lowest rate of his career.
It appears Rodon is still searching for the feel that made him one of the Yankees’ most effective arms last season.
Until he proves he can consistently get ahead in counts, this is a difficult matchup against a Mets lineup that should be willing to make him work.
The play: Carlos Rodon Over 1.5 walks (-190, bet365)
