If the same 53 players were in black-and-beige uniforms instead of red and gold, and they were called the Kansas City Cheetahs instead of the Chiefs, would everyone still be waiting on a .500 team to snap out of its funk and disrupt the AFC playoff picture?

Or is this a case of seeing a trusted logo and not believing your eyes?

“If Andy Reid is wearing the Cheetahs coaching hat and Patrick Mahomes is wearing the Cheetahs jersey, then I still think I’m feeling the same way,” Matt Ryan, the former MVP quarterback and current studio analyst for CBS’ “The NFL Today,” told The Post. “The Chiefs are the closest thing we’ve seen to New England during that 20-year stretch of Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. Even in their down years, it seems like they found ways to elevate when they needed to.”

Well, the Chiefs (5-5) need to now.
