The outcry over WWE’s handling of Giulia’s reign as Women’s United States champion is warranted, even if you can understand the reason for it ending.

Giulia joined the company in September 2024 as one of the hottest free agents in wrestling and was fast-tracked to the main roster in just seven months after a 63-day reign as NXT Women’s champion.

She was called up to the main roster in May, beat Zelina Vega for the U.S. championship in June and defended it in only two televised matches against Vega and Michin. Her only PLE appearance was in the Evolution battle royale.

It does make you wonder if Giulia’s title win on the SmackDown before Night of Champions was to create some news in Saudi Arabia, as it closed the show. Little plans for her materialized afterward.
