The Jets lost their third straight game on Sunday, a 29-6 defeat to the Saints. Here are some thoughts and observations from the game:
1. It is tough to get a read on anything right now with the roster the Jets are rolling with in these games. It feels like the preseason because there are so many players on the field who probably should not be playing. But this was so ugly and it continues the recent trend. The last three weeks have been a massive step back for the Jets and especially Aaron Glenn.
You can argue that they are now tanking and I wouldn’t fight you but I didn’t sense that until this week. Still, the team is 3-12 and it’s hard to find many positives about this season outside of the way the special teams have played.
Here’s the thing I am hung up on with Glenn: The difference this year was supposed to be him and his coaching staff. That’s what we were told and sold in the offseason. There was an idea that the talent was in place but the Jets just needed an upgrade when it comes to coaching. Everything was basically blamed on Robert Saleh, and then Jeff Ulbrich last season when he took over.
