More than 200 United Airlines flights were delayed Tuesday after the company grounded its fleet because of a computer glitch, the airline said.

United, the fourth largest domestic carrier, had to keep departing planes on the tarmac after “experiencing a systemwide technology issue,” the company said in a statement.

“Flights that are already airborne are continuing to their destination as planned. We’re currently investigating and will share more information as it becomes available,” the company said, before resuming operations.

About one hour later, United said the issue was resolved and the ground stop was lifted.

The technical issues delayed 211 flights nationwide.

In April, Southwest Airlines briefly grounded their planes nationwide due to what the company called “an intermittent technology issue.”

In January, the FAA grounded all domestic flights following a nationwide technical outage. It was the first time since Sept. 11, 2001, that all airlines flying within the US were halted.
