Trevor Megill gets honest about brother Tylor's Mets role

MILWAUKEE — Trevor Megill was awaiting his younger brother’s arrival for Game 2 of the NLCS on Tuesday, a kind of turnabout from last October when the older Megill played the cheerleader role.

It was last postseason that Tylor Megill was on the Mets’ NLCS roster and Trevor traveled to Los Angeles to support him. On this day the Brewers — the team for which Trevor Megill serves as the closer — faced the Dodgers at American Family Field.

It’s this environment that will serve as the closest Tylor Megill gets to major league action for an extended stretch — the right-hander underwent Tommy John surgery in September that will sideline him for 2026.

The surgery followed an aborted comeback attempt by the younger Megill, who was diagnosed with inflammation in the elbow in June. The Mets, who saw their starting pitching falter down the stretch — the team finished one victory short of the postseason — certainly could have used Megill.
