As expected, things aren’t looking good for Tigers’ Parker Meadows.

The outfielder was diagnosed with a concussion and broke a bone in his left arm, along with receiving five stitches in his left cheek after enduring a scary collision with teammate Riley Greene, Tigers reporter Daniella Provenzano shared on Friday afternoon.

The team also announced Meadows has been placed on the 10-day injured list and Wenceel Perez has been recalled from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move.

During a Thursday game against the Twins, Minnesota’s Josh Bell hit a fly ball to left-center field, and both Meadows in center and Greene in left chased it down to get the potential out.

The two collided in a shocking head-to-head collision that ended with Greene making the catch and Meadows on the ground with a bloody left cheek.

Meadows stayed on the grass on his back for several minutes as Greene and the Tigers’ medical staff ran over to check on him. The 26-year-old was later assisted as he sat up and made his way to a golf cart to be driven off the field.

Before the collision, Meadows was 0-for-3 at the plate.

After the Twins’ 3-1 victory over the Tigers, Detroit manager A.J. Hinch said Meadows’ injury “worried” him. Hinch remained at a Minneapolis hospital overnight with his player.

Across 12 games this season, Meadows was 9-for-36 with two RBIs and three steals.
