Tiger Woods is reportedly is “happy” to be back home with girlfriend Vanessa Trump after taking pain-killer treatment “seriously” in Switzerland, sources told People.
Woods, 50, returned to Florida on May 14 after residing at a rehab facility in Zurich for six weeks following his car crash and DUI arrest on March 27.
“Tiger took his trip seriously and is all about continuing his recovery and putting this chapter behind him,” a source in Jupiter told the outlet.
“He is in good spirits and also can’t wait to put the legal issues to rest,” the source added.
The source noted to People that nothing has changed between Woods and 48-year-old Trump since his absence, reporting they’re “still serious” and “in love.”
“Vanessa and Tiger are in love, still serious, and happy to see each other,” the source said.
The insider added Trump “is eager to help him continue with his progress and move beyond any more public scandals — which they both dislike intensely.”
She also leads an eventful life outside of her relationship with Woods.
“Vanessa is a busy mom, which for the most part does not get in the way of the overall vibe of her relationship with Tiger, [who is] also busy with his life, golf, charity, video game work projects and kids,” the source said.
“Each was glad to see the other, although they kept in touch while he was away,” a second source told People. “Both of them have responsibilities outside of their personal lives and that factors [into] how much time they can spend together. But each has an ex to share the kids with, so they have had enough time to keep the romance going.”
Trump’s five children have also become “like family” to Woods, the initial source added.
Trump shares five children with ex-husband Donald Trump Jr. — 19-year-old Kai, 17-year-old Donald, 14-year-old Tristan, 13-year-old Spencer and Chloe, 11.
Woods has a daughter, Sam Alexis, 18, and son Charlie, 17, with ex-wife Elin Nordegren.
Woods has become especially close with Kai, who is “a dedicated golfer” around similar age to the professional golfer’s kids, People reported.
Due to his arrest — during which he was found with two hydrocodone pills in his left pocket — Woods missed the Masters, though he stated he was “hoping to” play in the major tournament in Augusta. An additional source in the golf community told the publication Woods is excited to get back into the game and is putting a great deal of focus into his fitness routine.
“Golf is very much on Tiger’s mind and will be in [the] coming months as he gets back to it here in whatever ways he can,” the source said. “Golf is who he is, and those in the sport respect and like him. He will do whatever he has to to get back in whatever way he can in light of his injuries and age.
“He is not a quitter.”
While Woods has been encouraged to hire a driver, a source told People that they “doubt” he will do so.
Woods previously broke his silence in a post on social media four days following the crash.
“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,” he wrote in the statement. “I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.
“I’m committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.”
