April is a beautiful time of year — flowers bloom, the weather begins to warm up, and, of course, one of your fantasy team’s cornerstones is hitting .155 after 82 plate appearances, making every box score and three-strikeout performance feel like personal attacks.

But before you act hastily and rage-drop proven performers for some hot bat from a player whose name you’ll forget next week, remember: Slow starts are baseball’s favorite prank, and (most) players have the ability (and time) to turn it around.

Vinnie Pasquantino is coming off a solid 2025 campaign in which he hit .264 with 32 homers, 113 RBIs, 72 runs and a .798 OPS. He was also a key leader for Team Italy during its run to the WBC semifinals.

Hitting .155 with one homer (which didn’t come until his 82nd plate appearance), eight RBIs, a 22 percent strikeout rate and .483 OPS after 19 games is probably not what you expected when drafting him as your starting first baseman.
