WWE’s annual releases have become the toughest day of the wrestling year, and this year was no different.
There were no bombshells on Friday, but there certainly were a few that raised an eyebrow or two because it felt like WWE creative failed them more than the wrestlers not making the most of their opportunities.
Let’s start with The Wyatt Sicks, who debuted in the company in June 2024 with a tremendous buildup and the stunning sight of them basically committing a horror movie massacre backstage. All of them, including Wyatt’s brother Bo Dallas (Uncle Howdy), were released on Friday.
The group was a powerful and, at times, strong tribute to the late, great Bray Wyatt’s legacy, which now could end on screen for WWE whenever Alexa Bliss retires. But trying to recreate the magic, without the creative genius, isn’t always easy.
