The Bills’ secondary is limping into the 2025 NFL season.

Starting cornerbacks Tre’Davious White and Christian Benford are both dealing with groin injuries, while second-year safety Cole Bishop dealt with a quad injury throughout training camp.

The Bills will also be without rookie cornerback Maxwell Hairston, who is on injury reserve with a knee ailment.

That’s good news for Lamar Jackson and the Ravens for this “Sunday Night Football” clash, with the Ravens entering as small favorites despite being the road team.

Jackson was better than ever passing the ball in 2024, posting career-best across the board in passing yards (4,172), touchdowns (41) and passer rating (119.6).

He’s proven he can carve up the Bills’ defense.

During the divisional round against the Bills in January, a 27-25 Bills win, Jackson had a massive game passing the ball, throwing for 254 yards and two touchdowns – and that was with a largely healthy secondary.

That was in frigid, snowy Buffalo weather in January.

Sunday night’s forecast – low-60s and partly cloudy skies – will be much more friendly to quarterbacks.

The Ravens have proven they can put up points against Buffalo as well, scoring 35 points during their only regular-season matchup last year and 25 points during that divisional round, with more than 400 total yards in both contests.

Betting on the NFL?

Jackson famously likes to spread it around, so I’m avoiding any receiver in particular and betting on another big game through the air for the two-time MVP in what could be a classic Week 1 shootout between Super Bowl contenders.

The play: Lamar Jackson Over 228.5 passing yards (-110, bet365 Sportsbook)
