Alex Cohen, the wife of Mets owner Steve Cohen, posted a heartfelt message to the fans following the team’s stunning postseason miss and revealed she will be making changes to her social media habits.

Cohen said she will no longer post to her work Instagram account, @tiaalexnymets, and will be deactivating her Mets email account.

“This season didn’t end the way any of us had hoped, and like you, we feel the disappointment of not making it to the playoffs,” Cohen wrote. “Still, our belief in this team remains as strong as ever.

“Most of all, we are deeply grateful to you — our fans. Your passion, energy, and unwavering support carried us through every high and every low. Owning this team is not just about baseball; it’s about being part of a community that believes, together, in something bigger than the game itself.

“As we move into the offseason, I’ll be stepping away from this work Instagram to recharge and refocus. I remain committed to the work I do for the fans and look forward to reconnecting again in the spring.

“I’ll also be deactivating my Tia Alex email. I originally created it to stay connected with you all, but it ended up becoming a platform for the same thing fans were already DMing me about. Please know this decision comes from a place of respect and balance.

“Thank you for standing with us this season. We’ll be back, stronger, and hungrier than ever. Until then — keep believing, keep cheering, and know we much appreciate you.”

Cohen has been a constant presence on social media, using her platform to connect with fans since she and her husband purchased the team in November 2020.

Her Instagram account provides behind-the-scenes looks at the owners’ lives, while her Mets email allowed fans to reach out personally.

Cohen’s post did not mention any flooding of negative emails about the team, but it comes following the Mets suffering one of their most disappointing regular seasons in team history.

Despite signing Juan Soto to the largest contract in MLB history and seeming like a playoff lock around midseason, the Mets couldn’t grab one of the league’s six playoff berths.

Husband Steve also posted a similar message to the fans after losing out on a playoff spot to the Reds and their $119 million payroll, according to Spotrac.

“Mets fans everywhere. I owe you an apology,” Cohen posted to X on Monday. “You did your part by showing up and supporting the team. We didn’t do our part. We will do a post-mortem and figure out the obvious and less obvious reasons why the team didn’t perform up to your and my expectations.

“We are all feeling raw emotions today. I know how much time and effort you have put into this team. The result was unacceptable. Your emotions tell me how much you care and continues to motivate the organization to do better. Thank You to the best fans in sports.”
