Steve Cohen can’t even escape criticism in his own home.

The Mets owner jokingly told noti.group’s Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman on “The Show” podcast that he’s “getting ripped around the dinner table” with his team 14 games below .500.

Cohen’s family, including his wife Alex and his son Griffin, are Mets fans and he said they watch the games just like any other fan.

“We’re feeling the same thing our fans are feeling,” Cohen told The Post.

“And listen, the weight of responsibility on my shoulders is because I came in and said I wanted to do something great for New York, and I’m failing.”

Cohen bought a controlling stake in the Mets in 2020 and has seen his team make the playoffs just two times since then.

The hedge fund manager said he’s appreciated the positive moments during his ownership but wants sustainable and consistent success.

“That little adversity gets me focused, and I’m focused now,” Cohen said. “I give a lot of rope, and now I got to pull in some rope and figure out how to improve things.”

Cohen said he needs to start asking “What the hell happened here?” more and look at the process of decisions made to get to this point.

It appears the Mets owner decided that part of what happened was the fault of manager Carlos Mendoza, who was fired after starting the season 34-47 and with the team in last place in the NL East despite possessing of MLB’s most expensive payrolls.

Cohen also said it’s possible that decision were made good process, but things don’t work out because of unlucky or unpredictable events.

He mentioned injuries, such as Francisco Lindor’s two-month absence with a calf strain, as one of those unpredictable things.

This could be one reason the owner still believes in President of Baseball Operations David Stearns, who Cohen said is not on the chopping block.
