The Seahawks will try to reach Super Bowl 2026 without one of their important weapons.

Running back Zach Charbonnet is out for the rest of the playoffs with a “significant” knee injury, head coach Mike Macdonald said Monday on Seattle Sports. The 25-year-old tore his ACL, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, which likely will impact Charbonnet’s status for the start of next season.

“He’s got a good, long road to come back,” Macdonald said. “Heart goes out to him. Prayers go out to Charbs and we love him, man. This guy is the epitome of what it means to be a Seahawk: absolute tough as nails, great teammate, great human being, plays his tail off, detail oriented, unselfish. And it just hurts, man. It hurts that it’s going on.”

Charbonnet was injured during the Seahawks’ 41-6 divisional-round win over the 49ers on Saturday.

As one half of a dynamic backfield duo with Kenneth Walker III, Charbonnet had 184 rushes for 730 yards and 12 touchdowns in 16 regular-season games, adding 20 catches for 144 yards.

Charbonnet had five rushes for 20 yards in Saturday’s game before exiting.

Walker led the way with 19 carries for 116 yards and three touchdowns as the top-seeded Seahawks dominated their NFC West rivals. Sam Darnold was 12-for-17 with 124 yards and a touchdown.

They’ll have to get through another divisional foe in Sunday’s NFC Championship game in Seattle as they face the Rams for a third time this season.

The Rams handed the Seahawks one of their three losses on Nov. 16 in Los Angeles; Seattle got revenge in a 38-37 overtime home in on Dec. 18.
