There’s stirring the pot, and then there’s walking straight into the rival’s kitchen wearing their colors.

Rams receiver Puka Nacua has never been shy about attention, but his latest offseason cameo might be the most combustible yet, at least among his own fan base. During Super Bowl week in San Francisco, he posed for a smiling photo with 49ers cheerleaders. Innocent? Sure. Strategic? Doubtful. Explosive among Rams fans? Absolutely.

Yikes: Rams star WR Puka Nacua took a photo with 49ers cheerleaders in San Francisco, leaving many fans upset.

Puka is having an AWFUL offseason.

Context is everything. This hasn’t been a quiet winter for Nacua. He publicly shot his shot at actress Sydney Sweeney, was spotted on dates with influencers and went viral for appearing a little too loose in the streets during Super Bowl festivities. He even threw shade at quarterback Sam Darnold during the big game, leading to criticism online from a former teammate. Nacua’s latest antics are only adding to the growing mythology of Puka Offseason Theater.

The photo itself isn’t scandalous. No disrespectful gestures. No crimson confetti raining down. Just a grin and a few pompoms. But for Rams fans, rivalries matter, and so do optics.

In today’s NFL, brand and bravado travel faster than box scores. Nacua knows that. The question is whether he’s crafting a persona larger than the playbook — or simply playing with fire in a league in which loyalty still sells.

Either way, the offseason belongs to him. For better or worse.
