There couldn’t be a better script written for Plainedge right-hander Jaxson Torres, who recently threw back-to-back no-hitters during the Red Devils’ undefeated 20-0 campaign.

“I was definitely hoping for one this year,” Torres, a junior being looked at by colleges, told The Post.

He recently threw consecutive no-nos against Locust Valley and Wantagh at the end of April.

The latter was especially sweet for the fall-time quarterback whose team lost to Wantagh on the gridiron in the 2024 Nassau championship.

“I’ve always held the grudge for them,” Torres said with a laugh. “I hate losing, I’m a competitive person, so I always keep that at the back of my mind to just dominate on the mound.”

The moments were exciting, but nothing new for the 17-year-old, as he threw a no-hitter last season in the playoffs against Seaford. This time around, he knew help was there in the field should it be needed.

“Even if a kid hits a ball hard off me, I know my teammates are going to make the play,” said Torres.

He didn’t have much time to rest on his laurels, as Torres was called in for a no-out, bases-loaded jam last Monday against Valley Stream North.

“I struck out the side,” said Torres, whose superb hitless streak ended a few innings later.

Now he’s got bigger sights set, as in a playoff series rematch with the same school this weekend as the Red Devils seek to stay hot in the postseason.

Torres is also having some friendly competition with a close friend, fellow team ace Taylor Nitsch, for the most strikeouts this year.

Nitsch, also a wide receiver, is at 91 while Torres is at around 80.

But that’s just fun and games compared to the big-picture stuff.

“The only stat that counts is winning,” Torres said.
