Philip Rivers is officially going from the couch to under center for the Colts.
The 44-year-old grandfather was named Indianapolis’ starter against the Seahawks on Sunday, according to NFL Network.
River signed with the Colts practice squad with the team in a bind at QB after starter Daniel Jones tore his Achilles, main backup Anthony Richardson on injured reserve and third-stringer Riley Leonard dealing with a knee injury.
Rivers, who took first-team reps this week, last played in the NFL in January 2021, a wild-card round loss with the Colts.
