While the Patriots bought wins in free agency, the Giants should be looking into the NFL’s return policy.

Spoiler: All sales are final.

After the Giants and Patriots elbowed each other for positioning at the top of the draft each of the past two seasons, Monday’s matchup will pit one team whose rebuild is ahead of schedule (Patriots) against one that will be starting over yet again in the offseason (Giants).

After hiring head coach Mike Vrabel, the Patriots spent an NFL-high $364.3 million ($192.9 million guaranteed) in free agency last offseason, according to Spotrac.com. Several of those additions have been difference-makers during a 10-2 start.
