Vikings are fans of the Mets, apparently.

During the first leg of a Mets-Cubs doubleheader on Wednesday, Norwegian soccer fans took over a center-field section of Citi Field to cheer on the Mets.

They said the meeting was organized on Facebook, and the New York team gave them tickets in the same section.

The Norwegian fans are in the area because their men’s national soccer squad recently took on Senegal in a 3-2 World Cup win at MetLife Stadium.

“It’s a new experience, a unique experience, because we don’t have it in Norway, but so far, so good,” Kawar, one of the Norwegians in attendance, told The Post. “It feels very American in all ways, in all ways.”

Norway does have a baseball league, Norsk Baseballiga, but it hosts just six teams in a sport that is still growing in the Scandinavian country.

One fan said it took the group 15-20 minutes to learn the rules from one another before they began to understand what was going on.

“It’s a lot different than what’s on TV,” one said.

Once they drew the crowd’s attention, they picked everyone up with a game that otherwise had a relaxed Wednesday-afternoon feel.

One guest service employee, who wished to remain anonymous, told The Post the Norway fans are “just different” and “phenomenal.”

He said the fans have been great at Citi Field all season long, but seeing a country come together in chants has a special feeling.

The Norwegians have gone viral for their chants and celebrations this World Cup, specifically the “Viking Ship” rowing chant they performed at Times Square and MetLife.

One fan, Espen, said he’s been amazed by the stadiums in the United States so far, and another fan noted “Europeans need to learn something” from here.

The largest takeaway the fans had of the stadiums, though, was the number of food options.

“Lot of peanuts,” one fan said.

For as many Norwegian fans were in the section chanting, the same number were walking around the stadium, enchanted by the milkshakes and burgers around the ballpark.

Norway next plays France in Foxborough on Friday.
