What is there left to say about the 0-6 Jets?

I have always been high on Justin Fields because of his rushing abilities. Now after watching a display of hesitant decision-making, a frozen pocket presence, missed open reads and 45 (!) passing yards, it’s time to admit that the offense is clearly in a worse spot than it was before.
Fields has been sacked 19 times, the second-most sacks taken by a quarterback in the NFL this season.
Internal frustration boiled over with Garrett Wilson, who is out for a couple of weeks because of a hyperextended knee, and Aaron Glenn.
The playcalling was predictable.
Penalties once again stalled momentum.
No turnovers were forced.
Must I go on?
The Jets drag forward to host a Panthers team that is hot off its best month of football of the decade. Carolina has won three of its last four games and a brunt of its success is thanks to the sudden breakthrough of five-year veteran Rico Dowdle.
In Chubba Hubbard’s absence over the last two games, Dowdle has gone scorched earth with 472 total yards and a pair of scores.
This has been the most productive two-week stretch from a running back in the history of the Panthers franchise.
Now Dowdle, who is rejoined by Hubbard, draws a Jets defense that has allowed 130 scrimmage yards per game and has missing tackles like they’re trying to hug smoke.
Bryce Young is also beginning to trend up under center. No one would say he’s been elite, but the efficiency is there. Young is finding some timely situational success — executing key plays against Dallas in last week’s 30-27 win over Dallas — all while his offensive line has improved in fortifying him.
Betting on the NFL?
Let’s remember the Jets still haven’t caught an interception yet this season, so Young likely has a comfortable day ahead of him.
I really can’t think of one tactical or intangible advantage the Jets have here.
This line has moved three points to Carolina since opening and there’s no sense not to follow it.
Like Pete Davidson says to Bill Burr in his 2020 movie, “The King of Staten Island:” “Who bets on the Jets?”
Not me.
