Gracie Hunt and Derek Green’s engagement was straight out of a movie.
The daughter of Chiefs billionaire owner Clark Hunt shared the behind-the-scenes of Green’s proposal in an emotional Instagram video on Monday.
“POV: walking towards your forever 🥹😭🤍💍,” Gracie, formerly Miss Kansas USA, captioned her post.
The video begins with Gracie riding in a golf cart to an outdoor setting where Green — the son of former Super Bowl champion quarterback Trent Green, who spent six seasons with the Chiefs — was waiting for her a rose canopy.
“I cannot, you all are crazy,” an emotional Gracie said as the golf cart came to a stop in front of a candle-lit path.
“He’s waiting for you,” her mother, Tavia, who was not seen in the clip, said, referring to Green.
Gracie is seen walking down the path to Green before he gets down on one knee and presents her with a massive diamond engagement ring by Lyles Jewelry — a Dallas-based jeweler that has worked with Gracie for prior events.
Gracie and Derek — who works in sports and entertainment at Creative Planning, a financial advice company — announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post on Saturday.
“It was always you 💍❤️♾️,” they wrote, including snapshots of the beautiful moment.
Both of their families were present, as seen in other photos.
One image showed Derek shaking hands with Gracie’s father, Clark, as well as Tavia, and Derek’s mom, Julie, taking photos.
Gracie made their relationship public in an Instagram post last May.
Derek played quarterback for SMU, a private university in Dallas, from 2018 to 2021, before he transferred to Long Island University in 2022.
Gracie and her Clark both attended SMU.
