noti.group’s Dylan Svoboda takes a look at this week’s betting trends and storylines.

More disappointments

It’s not just the Chiefs suffering through a season from hell.

After coming into the season as Super Bowl contenders and heavily-favored playoff teams, the Lions and Ravens seasons are on life support.

The pair are +1500 and +800, respectively, to make the postseason after suffering tough losses during Week 16.

With Kansas City already out of the picture, it appears three of the top-five Super Bowl favorites coming into the year won’t even sniff the playoffs.

Topsy-turvy Coach of the Year race

While Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel has led the Coach of the Year field for weeks now, there’s a dark horse candidate making a run at the award.

With a decent shot at the No. 1 seed in the NFC, the 49ers’ Kyle Shanahan now has the second-best odds (+220) to win the award.

San Francisco improved to 11-4 with a win over the Colts on Monday night.

If they win out, the 49ers will get an unlikely first-round bye despite devastating injuries up-and-down their roster.

A rookie run

Speaking of a dark horse award candidate.

Saints quarterback Tyler Shough is making a late run for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award with his breakout since taking over the starting job in New Orleans.

Shough is all the way up to +370 to win the award, which trails only Panthers wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan, who is -320.

Betting on the NFL?

Sunday’s toilet bowl battle

It’s a dead heat for the NFL’s worst record.

And we might all but have our answer this weekend.

Tied with the fewest wins in football, the Giants and Raiders will square off in Las Vegas in a game that neither franchise necessarily wants to win.

As a slight underdog on Sunday, the Giants are currently the favorites to be the worst team in the league and get the No. 1 pick (+145, DraftKings Sportsbook), although the Raiders aren’t far behind (+180).

The Jets have the third-best chances (+600) to land the top pick, but they’d need some help — and to lose out — to make it happen.
