Nets' big man duo may prove to be too much of a good thing

The Nets have a problem at center, but at least it’s a good one.

Between Nic Claxton and steadily-improving backup Day’Ron Sharpe, Brooklyn has two capable, starting-quality pivots. On a tanking team, is that one too many? A case of improper asset allocation?

“Day’Day is a beast. He’s a starting five in the NBA. But we have two starting fives, Clax and him,” Michael Porter Jr. said. “When Clax is out, you can put Day in there and there’s no drop-off.”

Porter isn’t the only Net whose name has been mentioned in trade rumors. For a rebuilding team angling for lottery positioning, Claxton could prove a luxury. Or, at least, holding onto both him and Sharpe could be.
