A top South Korean bodybuilding influencer has died in a mysterious accident at just 38.

Kim Woong Seo was well-known for creating fitness-related content and had 122,000 subscribers on YouTube, as well as over 40,000 followers on Instagram.

The 38-year-old’s death, described only as an ‘accident’, has left his family in complete shock.

His younger brother, Kim Ji Hyun, said: ‘Kim Woong-Seo, who was always full of energy, passed away due to an accident.

‘And went on a long journey to heaven where we can never hold hands again.’

‘Our brother, who seemed strong, but was more delicate than anyone else.

‘I would appreciate it if you could remember him deeply in your hearts for a long time so that his final journey is not lonely.’

No other details were shared about how Kim died so suddenly on February 3.

Just two weeks ago, on 23 January, he shared a post with his 43,000 followers of him enjoying a drink at a cafe.

His funeral service took place on February 5 at the Gimhae Citizen’s Funeral Hall in South Korea.

Since the announcement of his death, his fans have shared messages on social media.

One person said: ‘I feel like my heart is falling apart.’

Another added: ‘May his soul rest in peace.’

‘I hope you are happy and comfortable in heaven. Thank you for the bright energy. Rest in peace,’ a third said.

Someone else added: ‘He visited my Instagram sometimes.

‘Rest in peace. Go to a good place and rest,’ added another.

His death comes just a month after another South Korean Bodybuilding YouTube star, Park Seung-hyun, died at just 35.

Park had previously admitted to using steroids and also had amassed over 830,000 subscribers on YouTube.

Park’s brother announced the death with a framed photo of his brother around multiple wreaths of flowers.

‘On January 5, 2025, 15:51 my brother Seung Hyun went to heaven due to health reasons,’ the post said. ‘The parents’ feelings are not accepted, we don’t take advice. May you rest in peace with a heart of comfort.’

‘May his soul rest in peace,’ a few comments read.
