With his NBA Finals status still in question, Mitchell Robinson is not scheduled to speak to media at Knicks practice on Tuesday.

The Knicks’ backup center recently underwent surgery for a broken right pinky, and was seen doing individual work at practice on Monday.

However, he is not on the list of 10 Knicks who will be speaking to the media on Tuesday ahead of Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday. Robinson is not required to speak due to his injured status and will not be fined.

Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo did not speak before the 2021 NBA Finals after hyperextending his knee against the Hawks in the previous round.

noti.group’s Stefan Bondy previously reported that Robinson fractured the fifth metacarpal, the bone connecting the wrist to the pinky.

Robinson played in all four games of the Knicks’ Eastern Conference Finals sweep over the Cavaliers, and the Knicks have said that the big man’s injury did not happen in a game or practice.

New York will hope to have him back for the start of the Finals on Wednesday night in San Antonio.
