Michael Strahan wasn’t a fan of how Nick Sirianni handled a sideline disagreement with A.J. Brown during Sunday’s wild-card loss to the 49ers, ending Philadelphia’s hopes of repeating as Super Bowl champs.

Brown and Sirianni were captured by the Fox broadcast during a tense exchange that saw the Eagles coach charge down the sideline and get in the face of the wide receiver.

Eagles’ head of security, Dom DiSandro, had to get in between the two of them.

Strahan, who was back in the NFL on Fox studio, commented on the sequence of events during halftime, starting off with how he didn’t get why Sirianni was yelling at Brown.

“I don’t understand why Sirianni’s running down there and yelling at one of his star players, A.J. Brown,” Strahan said. “You know, A.J. Brown wanted to get involved in the game, I’m sure. They took two big shots with him, maybe he said, ‘Give me a shot,’ and the coach said, ‘You had your chance, you better catch the ball next time.’

“But I don’t understand why you do that in the middle of a game like this, because I don’t think that brings out the best in your players. I think it takes away from your players. I think it takes away from the attitude of the team and the energy of the team.”

After the loss, Sirianni addressed the situation, saying “I have a special relationship with him. We’ve probably went through every emotion you can possibly have together. … That happens in this game, but I love him.”

Brown did not address the moment and declined to speak with reporters at all after the season-ending loss.

The Eagles’ wide receiver finished the game with just three catches for 25 yards, with the longest reception being a 10-yard catch in the first quarter.
